This article is about "The Svalbard Global Seed Vault" at Svalbard, Norway. The seed vault preserving crop from over 100 countries. The facility was established to preserve seed samples of the world's crops in an underground cavern and provide insurance against the lose of seeds in genebanks, as well as a refuge for seeds in the case of large scale regional or global crises.
